Employees are like Snow Flakes, they are all "Original"

I have several employees I oversee where I work. As many of my co-workers would agree I have been "blessed" with the least charming group of employees this side of the Mississippi. While I know that is not uncommon for an employee to complain about their boss, lord knows I do, I think it is distinctly uncommon to have the bunch of whiny, temper tantrum throwing babies that I have to babysit on a daily basis.

They complain that I am too attentive to what they are doing, they complain that they do not get enough one on one time with me, they complain that they do not have enough support or assistance, they complain when help is given because they do not need it, they complain when they don't have enough cases, they complain when they have a new case. . .anyone else seeing the "not happy no matter what" trend here? It is often said that those who cannot do teach, can it also be said that those who are crazy social work? Lord knows for every normal social worker I see there are are two that are not normal. I have spent a good deal of time in reflection, is it them or is it something I am doing? Perhaps a combination of both? After several years however I am coming to the conclusion that while I may have some ownership in their pissyness, after all one does adopt the I don't care attitude after awhile of being submitted to endless temper tantrums; the majority of the problem is that they need to grow up. They are big boys and girls who are supposed to be professional. If you can't do the work quit the job.

That is all I have to say about that!
